My campers always find it amusing when I say that im going camping for our own family getaway. Ive always camped since a young child, from cardboard boxes in our living room to back packing in remote locations in New Zealand; not so much of either of these recently đ. With limited time and restrictions on taking children out of school we can only manage a few days away, but we are blessed in the South West with some amazing sites, so don't have to go far!
I wanted to try somewhere new, a bit quirky, with similar ethics to Beryls, but close to a surf beach and places to cycle. After a bit of googling we decided on Eco Cerenety Campsite, Bude. When we first pulled up I wasn't quite sure of the views over Bodmin, but we parked, pitched and explored!
It is a gem of a site, which you are allowed to roam (children to be supervised in garden/ animal area). It's rustic and wild with a veggie garden I envy. The compost loos may not be for everyone, but THEY DO NOT SMELL!! and the solar shower are probably great, but if its cloudy make sure you have a hot drink on hand afterwards!!! Plenty of beaches to choose from and a cycle path not far from the site. The owner was lovely and very helpful, we managed to pack in quite a bit in our few days there, now all I need is another holiday!!!!!!! A definite recommendationâď¸
